GENERAL INFORMATION
Our 8- and 10-day walking tours offer a combination of unspoiled nature, splendid walks, culture, interesting historical places, good food and accommodation, all enjoyed in
international company. Experienced English speaking guide.
The Happy Walker knows beautiful routes through relatively unknown gorges.
In the season 2013 there are four 8–day tours and one 10-day tour from the early spring until the late summer.
The walking routes of these tours are easy graduating to slightly more demanding. Duration 3 – 6 hours. Differences in altitude in general max. 300 meters. All 10–day tours have a day of rest. Accommodation in coastal and inland resorts; lodging in good C-class hotels and pensions with a hospitable atmosphere. Transport of persons and luggage on transfer days is organized by minibus. During the walks you only need to carry a small rucksack. Meals are taken in cosy taverns. The Cretan kitchen is very inviting. Lunch will be most of the time a picnic.
For all 8 - 10 day tours the minimum number of participants is 6, the maximum 17 persons.

In these botanically orientated walking tours we pay more attention to the unique and very interesting flora of Crete. There is also more time for making photographs and in general the walks are a bit easier with a slower pace (compared with our other roundtrips).
The
first flower tour is in East Crete, new in our programme 2011, based in 3 different hotels.
The plateaus of Lassithi and Katharo are two of the highlights of this week.
The
second flower tour is in Central Crete, based in Spili. This tour has been popular for many years! One of the best places to see an abundance of different orchids is on the Gious Kampos plateau near Spili.
In the month of September we offer an 8-day tour in East Crete
New this year Trekking in Southwest Crete in the month of June:
During this trekking we walk from hotel to hotel, while our luggage will be transported. We combine the high mountains of the Lefka Ori with the desolate, capricious south coast. Highlights of this tour include the imposing gorges of Aradena, Samaria and Irini, and the breathtaking coastal walks to Elafonisi and Sougia. In general the walks are longer and the terrain often rougher and stonier than during our other tours.
A good condition and some experience with (mountain) walking are recommended.
