Our 8- and 10-day walking tours offer a combination of unspoiled nature, splendid walks, culture, interesting historical places, good food and accommodation, all enjoyed in
international company. Experienced English speaking guide.
THE HAPPY WALKER knows beautiful routes through relatively unknown gorges.
In the season 2010 there are seven 8–day tours and seven 10-day tours from the early spring until the late autumn.
The walking routes of our
10-day tours are easy graduating to slightly more demanding. Duration 3 – 6 hours. Differences in altitude in general max. 300 meters. All 10–day tours have a day of rest. Accommodation in coastal and inland resorts; lodging in good C-class hotels and pensions with a hospitable atmosphere. Transport of persons and luggage on transfer days is organized by minibus. During the walks you only need to carry a small rucksack. Meals are taken in cosy taverns. The Cretan kitchen is very inviting. For a lunch there will sometimes be a picnic.
For most 8 - 10 day tours the minimum number of participants is 6, the maximum 17 persons.
In the month of April we offer a
botanical flower tour, especially recommended for people who are interested in the rich spring vegetation in general and the profusion of Cretan orchids in particular.
As a
'walking cocktail' we offer in spring a 10-day tour which is a mix of a few of our daily tours, some walks from our flower tour in April and as a finishing touch two beautiful walks in Central Southern Crete.
An excellent opportunity to make the acquaintance of Happy Walking on Crete.
In the months of June, July and September we offer you
'a taste of the White Mountains' (Lefka Hori) in an 8-day-tour. The tour in June is a
special for "solo-travellers". Walks along the western slopes of this mountainous area with beautiful views, downwards through the Irini gorge and in the coastal area of Sougia are part of the programme. Our resort is a hotel on the Omalos-plateau (1000 m.) The walks are slightly demanding. Duration 4 - 6 hours.
In the month of September there is an 8-day
trekking along the south-western coast of Crete. The walks move on from place to place and are somewhat more demanding than most of our other tours.
Duration 5 - 7 hours. So you should be fit and in good condition.
You carry only a day-rucksack. Luggage transport will be arranged. Some transfers will be done by bus or by boat.
As a special we offer in September a 10-day tour on the
islands of Nysiros and Kos.
At the beginning of October there is an 8-day tour
singing and walking with professional musical support!

Prolongation:

- If you would like to prolong your stay either before or after the tour we can arrange any type of accommodation at your request; in Rethymnon, in the first or last resort of the tour or elsewhere on the island.
Special offer: if you prolong your stay in a studio mentioned on our web site under Accommodation the price will be 32 € per day per studio for a minimum of 3 days.
